I have been asking (with very limited success) what cards you would like to see in each racial set. Today we will ask about the Elves, those pointy eared citizens of Grandilar.
Also since the dryad does not exist in 2.0, should cards be made available to let someone tailor their elven character to be one? At least in my mind dryads should be elves but do you agree?
Ann G.
I see elves as coordinated, good with bows. Affinity for woods--speak to trees? Ability to blend in with their natural surroundings.
ReplyDeleteI agree that dryads should be elves.
Dryads would be nice to have in 2.0. Some kind of plant empathy seems apropos. Back in the early days when we played fast and loose with the rules from a dearth of info, the elf in our group would regularly talk to trees, and we let him. He kept it up for the life of the character, even after the warped tree nearly killed him.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that just occurred to me was that it would be interesting to see something that distinguishes the different flavor of elves. Ebony and Farilan Elves are two distinct races, and have a long adversarial history, but in-game, there's no real difference between the two. Maybe one has an affinity with weapons, and the other with magic.
ReplyDeleteHeck, with enough brainstorming, and development of the backgrounds of the two races, perhaps a full 9 card set could be created for each of them.
The Ebony Elves were the snobs of the Elven societies; the Farilans were the dregs and slaves. I could certainly see the Ebony Elves skewing toward aristocracy, politics, and more esoteric pursuits, while the Farilans would be more the traditional bow-wielding tree friends.
